Vajira Ranaviraja, Principal – Consulting and Advisory Services

Vajira Ranaviraja has ten years of market research and product development experience and is currently a Principal at KRT Associates LLC. The vast majority of his experience has been in the Federal sector where he has directly consulted clients on how to best expand their footprint within this market space. His core competencies lies in providing guidance to companies entering the government sector for the first time; and in established companies growing their Federal market share. He has a well-established history of successfully enhancing his clients understanding of the markets they want to pursue, as well as determining which markets they should enter in the future based on their core competencies, capabilities, and capacity.

Vajira’s expertise in market research and business strategy comes from extensive and in-depth experience in the Federal market space working with leading research firms such as INPUT (now Deltek GovWin) and Bloomberg Government (BGOV). Due to his years of experience developing both Deltek’s GovWin and Bloomberg’s BGOV platforms he has an intimate understanding of how to effectively leverage these leading market intelligence tools to maximize their impacts on a firm’s business development and capture process.

During his tenure at INPUT, Vajira was the primary resource for intelligence regarding multiple Cabinet level Agencies and independent agencies including:

At Bloomberg Government he was the Product Manager for Budgets, Contracts, and Grants and was responsible for managing the implementation of tools that would support the business development and capture process for firms that pursued Government contract opportunities. He was an in-house subject matter expert for Federal sector best practices for Federal procurement, and designed and enhanced much of BGOV’s core tools that are targeted to Federal contractors.

Vajira’s in-depth understanding of the federal market place coupled with his ability to understand how businesses could best capitalize on business opportunities made him the subject matter expert for numerous major e-governance initiatives and major Federal acquisitions, including:

Vajira holds a Master in Business Administration degree from the George Washington University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree double majoring in Economics and Sociology – Organizational Studies from the University of California, Davis.

Joshua Temple, Principal – Government Technology Services

Joshua Temple has over seven years of project management and information technology management experience and is currently a Principal at KRT Associates LLC. He has extensive experience working in the public sector for the U.S. Federal Government, where he has focused on increasing the efficiency and reducing the cost of information technology solutions and programs. Joshua also has significant experience in the private sector where he provided guidance to established companies that were trying to implement similar projects in the Federal sector. His primary core competencies lie in effectively leveraging and building cross-functional teams and working with senior leadership in order to increase the effectiveness of technology solutions while also ensuring projects are delivered on time and on budget.    

Before joining KRT Associates Joshua had been leading and directing IT project teams within the U.S. Department of State – Foreign Service in several different international locations. During this time he was responsible for leading many high-profile projects to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the department’s information systems. He also worked closely with Embassy leadership to develop and implement projects which would significantly reduce IT infrastructure costs at these international locations.

Joshua has a track record of success in implementing effective IT projects. Some of his accomplishments include:

- Project lead for information technology on a $9M expansion which will increase the size of the U.S. Consulate’s consular section (the 3rdlargest in terms of volume in the world) by 40%

- Lead for the high-profile air quality monitor modernization project, which is widely utilized by American ex-patriots, news agencies, and foreign governments to obtain air quality data within Shanghai

- Obtained senior leadership support and implemented a power management program which reduced costs related to computer power consumption by over 75%

- Established the justification and obtained senior leadership buy-in for a voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) implementation which has significantly reduced long-distance calling costs for the U.S. Governments mission in Shanghai

 Joshua also has an extensive background in Federal acquisitions and market intelligence and was the lead analyst for the Federal Civilian sector at a leading market research firm; INPUT (now Deltek GovWin). In this role he provided in-depth information and guidance on major technology acquisitions which enabled his clients to develop winning strategies for pursuing these programs.

 Joshua holds a Master of Science degree in Information Systems Technology from the George Washington University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Information Technology from Virginia Tech. He also holds the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) – Expert and Project Management Professional (PMP) certifications.
